Our History
Even after studying management at Fairfield University, John Curtis knew he wanted to be in construction, so he returned to school, then worked in project management before founding Curtis Construction in 1998. The company’s original focus on private institutions quickly evolved into a focus on ground-up of development affordable and multifamily housing, nonprofits, historic restorations, and complex projects that require the detailed attention John and our team insist on.
We hired the best experts we knew on general contracting, project management, value engineering, design and more, and treat them the way we treat our clients: fairly, with respect and encouraging their growth. That’s why our core group has worked together for decades, creating seamless experiences for our clients.
Over the years, we’ve grown from our founder to six employees and now to 10, all hands-on to ensure each project is a success. That ensures our clients will deal directly with us — no layers of hierarchy to get to the boss.
That’s why over the years, we’ve built solid relationships with a select group of loyal core clients who come to us again and again to solve their problems.
