Working once again for non-profit housing developer NeighborWorks Housing Solutions, Curtis Construction was hired to demolish an existing two-story office building under a tight deadline and proceed to construct a new 3-story wood frame apartment building with 22 Studio Efficiency Apartments and an Homeless Resource Center (HRC) with an 18 bed capacity on a 16,000 square foot lot.
Dealing with the restrictions of a very tight site, Curtis pressed forward to get the foundation in and utilities onsite from busy Route 123 before a street opening moratorium went effect.
The completed building features studio apartments with kitchettes and bathrooms for the building’s long term residents as well a thoughtful separate space for the 18 bed dormitory in the Housing Resource Center section of the building and its accompanying staff offices.
